This is a Corona 3. This is a portable typewriter made successful by Standard Typewriter Company, a company established by brothers Lyman Cornelius Smith, Wilbert Smith, Monroe C. Smith and Hurlburt Smith but later renamed as Corona Typewriter Company in 1914.
It was one of the most successful machines in typewriter history, with more than 600,000 machines built and sold over a period of almost 30 years. The machine presented here is was built around 1920-1922 but dated on Dec 7, 1925.
The machine made its way to Malaysia through a secondary school’s administration office in Penang.
It makes a great decor item for wedding reception, party events, office space and retail outlets!
