Originating from Tianjin Clock and Watch Factory (天津钟表厂) in Tianjin, China in 1956. Tianjin is known as the birthplace of the Chinese watch industry. The Golden Rooster brand are classic mantel clocks produced by the Tianjin Clock and Watch Factory in the 70s.

The Golden Rooster brand is easily identified by the image of a rooster standing in front of a rising sun. Before its merger with Tianjin Hengda Tobacco Factory in 1959, Tianjin Clock and Watch Factory was known as the Tianjin Public-Private Partnership Clock and Watch Factory. After the merger, the factory continued to produced clocks under the Golden Rooster trademark. These clocks gained a household name amongst Chinese families and were exported across the world.

Today the Tianjin Clock and Watch Factory may not have been able recaptured the glory of its illustrious past, however the Golden Rooster brand still exists. Restructured under the name Tianjin Golden Rooster Watch Factory, the company continues to produce Golden Rooster brand clocks along Yibin Road at Nankai District, Tianjin, China.
